Day 7 Nancy the cultural jewel of the Lorraine

Nancy sweet Nancy….we are stopping overnight on the way home. This is a vibrant city, Nancy is the cultural jewel of the Lorraine province of France. This is our last stop in France after our visit to Chablis on day 6.

We stayed in an old monastery right in the heart of the city. When you visit, you will feel like in another world standing on Stanislav Plaza surrounded by bars and restaurants. It is a city of life during the day and night.

We are browsing in the old streets, passing through golden gates, and hiding in the shadows of palaces from the piercing sun.

I am buying a large glass bird on a wire, so long that it will barely fit into the car. Michael is laughing at my unexpected shopping, and I am deciding which rose pot on our terrace at home will become the bird’s new home.

It is getting late, and I am hungry, thirsty, and emotional. Suddenly I received the best news for a long time. No, I have not won the lottery, nor inherited a grand champagne vineyard. My 20 years of research was accepted for publication in a top scientific journal.

An amazing laser show has lit up the Stanislav Plaza and a bottle of Signe Francois Grand Cru Millésime from Guy Larmandier is chilling to be part of the night’s celebration. Click here to find out about our last day or wine exploration on day 8.
